Tired of being in debt? Credit Card payments getting to be too much?
What is p4people? p4people=People4People
ACCOUNTABLITY …this is a key ingredient to being a success in life, regardless of your path.
Accountability is huge with People4People = P4P.
1. You are expected to be absolutely honest with yourself and the representative of P4P…this honesty begins in the form of a budget you are asked to fill out, completely, right down to the pack of gum you are in the habit of purchasing once every 3rd day of every other week …yes, it is that nit picky. What? You didn’t know it’s not the big expenditures that kill ya? It’s that nickel and dime spending that puts most of us under. No matter how much money you make, if you don’t manage your money right, you will never have enough. The question is, do you know your habits? Do you really?
2. The budget you fill out is used as the basis for how you will then spend your money throughout the next month. Once that budget is turned in, you are then asked to log on everyday and enter what you’ve spent your money on…again, right down to the penny. If you don’t log on, you will receive a call and be asked what is going on.
3. As you progress in the program, you are taught how money works, how credit works. Our society is filled with people who really don’t know how to budget, people who have no idea where they are spending their money and how to save. With regards to credit spending, the mistakes made are atrocious and can potentially ruin lives. The complaints are many and include such phrases as, “I’m so tired of living check to check!” or the ever prevalent, “I’m just getting deeper and deeper into debt”. Another phrase that is making the rounds as of late is, “oh crap, I can’t make the mortgage payment this month!” How many people bought homes that, quite honestly, shouldn’t have? Take a drive down your neighborhood streets. Those for sale signs aren’t put there because Mr. Jones is looking to upgrade. Chances are, Mr. Jones is wringing his hands and looking at his family with a knot in the pit of his stomach wondering what he’s going to do. Do you know a Mr. Jones? Are you Mr. Jones? There’s hope…P4P.
P4P teaches and instills good habits where bad habits have run amuck. And there’s more…this organization connects members to one another when one has a need that another can fulfill. For example, Joe (the veterinarian) has a problem with his bathroom plumbing. Victor (the plumber) has a sick cat. Both men are members of P4P and both have access to a database on which they can find each other and form a trade. This is a very simplified story but one that exemplifies the value of communication and connection. Our society has become afraid to step outside, people are afraid of each other. It is becoming a part of the very fiber of our culture. People’s lives are falling apart and all because they don’t know where to go or who to turn to. The tragedy is, the very person that can help them could very well be as close by as the neighbor next door. P4P is creating a neighborhood and encouraging the neighbors to know each other, to work together and be in support of one another. Novel concept, and yet, not so novel at all if you consider the way our country was formed. Our forefathers could not have created this great land had it not been for the connection they had with each other.
Another of the many benefits of this organization comes in the form of job placement. P4P has formed relationships with companies who will post their needs on the People4People website. Members who have gone through the program can log on and find the job posting that best fits what they’re looking for. When he or she attends an interview, they will have with them proof of their credibility, a show of their character and ability to maintain a stable lifestyle. They will have their budget and a record of their commitment to stay on that budget. Companies these days do a credit check to see if a potential employee would be a good choice for hiring. P4P takes it a step further. What is sorely lacking in the work force is the personal touch. If a company is set to hire a person who will sit at a desk 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, why not get a sense of that person’s character on a first person basis, rather than through an impersonal average of numbers that may or may not accurately reflect the strengths of the individual? A person’s caliber and worth should not be left up to an average of numbers.
We live in a society filled with a growing population of have nots. Rather than take responsibility for their situation, many are pointing fingers of blame, losing their homes and families and panicking their way into destitution. Panic does nothing to solve the issue, what is needed is a proactive mindset. A decision must be made by our society (as a whole) to stop, breathe and then, learn what we’ve done wrong and do what must be done to make it right. There is no need for the turmoil. P4P is not a band aid for the gushing wound that is bleeding our country’s finances dry. Neither are they a debt consolidation or quick fix. They are a group of people who see a need to re-invent America, to educate the people and to connect the people. To do this, we must be willing to look into our mirrors, so to speak. We must take responsibility and be prepared to work hard. More over, we must be open to reaching out to one another. The country’s issues are not going to be repaired from the top down but rather from the ground up. The healing will not happen overnight, neither will it be an easy endeavor. This will require a digging deep down into our society’s inner workings and an honest look at a broken system.
The work will be difficult, however, the reward will be a return to greatness.
P4P has their sleeves rolled up and is ready to go.
